Fans of Iran national football team in Azadi Stadium in Tehran, Iran. Iran national football team also known as Team Melli represents Iran in international football competitions and is controlled by the Iran Football Federation. Iran is one of the most successful national teams in Asia with three Asian Cup championships (1968, 1972, and 1976). Iran have qualified for the World Cup four times (1978, 1998, 2006, and 2014) but have never advanced past the group stage.
