Yalda Night
December 20, 2017 , IRANFruits, nuts and candies are seen on the shelf of a shop in Grand Bazaar of Tehran, ready to be sold for the annual festival of Yalda, an ancient Zoroastrian rite held on the eve of the Winter Solstice, or the longest night of the year or the beginning of winter. The rite, which marks the victory of Good over Evil, is still celebrated by most Iranians and traditionally spend Yalda at home with their families, reciting poetry and feasting on fruits and nuts.
