A photo of Bahman Cinema in Shiraz, Iran, back in 2014. Despite efforts of firemen, on Thursday night, May 30, 2019, Bahman cinema was burnt down in a fire. Bahman cinema was one of the oldest cinemas in Shiraz. The Bahman Cinema in Shiraz, which opened in 1970 with a capacity of 703 seats, was then called the Metro Cinema. The cinema opened by Ismail Golestan on Zand Street and First movie which had shown “Prince Student” and it was completely untied until the pre-revolutionary years. The cinema came to the Mostazafan foundation after the revolution. It renamed the cinema to Bahman, and after a few years it was reopened and Hozeh Honari was responsible for it. Over the past two years, Hozeh Honari had left it to the private sector.
