January 7, 2017 , IRANA poster of The Salesman movie, directed by Asghar Farhadi is seen in a tram in Zurich, Switzerland. The Salesman is a 2016 Iranian-French drama film directed by Asghar Farhadi. It was included in the In Competition section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. At Cannes, Shahab Hosseini won the award for Best Actor and Asghar Farhadi won the award for Best Screenplay. In September 2016 film was selected as the Iranian submission for Best Foreign Language Film for the 89th Academy Awards, which will take place in 2017, and in December 2016 it made the shortlist of nine films which will be considered for a nomination in that category.
